The AI Data Scientist at Confidential Client focuses on developing and implementing advanced machine learning and predictive analytics solutions to improve healthcare outcomes. This role involves designing novel algorithms, leveraging NLP and generative AI technologies, and collaborating cross-functionally to build scalable production ML services that enhance patient and provider experiences.

What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, evaluate, and deploy machine learning models (classification, regression, ranking) to improve clinical and operational outcomes.
- Implement model development across full ML lifecycle: dataset curation, feature engineering, model training, validation, hyperparameter tuning, testing, and production deployment.
- Apply modern NLP, transformer-based methods, LLMs and Generative AI techniques for tasks such as information retrieval, question answering, and conversational AI.
- Collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, and clinical subject-matter experts to integrate ML services into production systems and ensure data quality and governance.
- Optimize model performance for accuracy, latency, and cost; apply explainability and performance monitoring best practices.
- Work with vendor cognitive platforms when applicable and operationalize third-party models, including configuration and reporting.
- Visualize and communicate model results and insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Participate in special projects and maintain required certifications where applicable.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Physical Sciences, or related technical field — or equivalent experience.
- 1–3 years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, or software engineering roles.
- Practical experience using Python for data analysis and model development.
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and deploying models to production environments.
- Ability to collaborate across interdisciplinary teams and clearly document business problems and analytic approaches.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong Python proficiency and experience with libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, Matplotlib, and Seaborn.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras.
- Demonstrated experience with transformer architectures, fine-tuning LLMs, prompting strategies, and generative-model optimization.
- Background in NLP subfields: information retrieval, question answering, conversational AI, or reinforcement learning.
- Experience working with large-scale data (Spark) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Familiarity with MLOps practices, model monitoring, and feature-store concepts.
- Strong statistical foundation and experience performing rigorous model validation and performance assessments.
- Track record of delivering high-quality work on time and taking ownership of projects.
Compensation & Location
- Base salary range: $104,998.00 USD - $141,314.00 USD (annual). The range listed reflects what our client reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual salary will be based on experience, education, and other lawful factors.
