What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level AI & Data Engineering Analyst to design, build, and deploy AI-driven solutions for public-sector clients. In this role you will work on projects spanning conversational AI (chatbots and virtual assistants), machine learning models, cognitive services, and scalable data engineering pipelines. You will join client-facing teams and gain consulting experience through hands-on delivery, collaboration, and exposure across client environments.

  • Architect, design, develop, and deploy AI solutions (chatbots, virtual assistants, ML models, cognitive services).
  • Build data engineering pipelines and integrate machine learning models into production systems.
  • Translate business and agency requirements into technical designs and demonstrable prototypes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (business analysts, engineers, architects) to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Validate model performance, maintain data quality, and implement monitoring for production systems.
  • Support enterprise architecture discussions to ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable AI solutions.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to project planning, lead small workstreams, and help deliver client-ready artifacts.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university expected to graduate by Summer 2027, or completed bachelor’s degree or higher in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Computational Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on teams; strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at time of employment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Reside within a commutable distance (e.g., 100-mile radius) of the assigned office, with the ability to commute daily if required.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% on average, based on client needs.

Preferred:

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher.
  • Internship, project, or coursework experience in AI, data engineering, machine learning, robotics, or related fields.
  • Experience with model deployment, cloud-based data platforms, and MLOps practices.

This is an entry-level opportunity intended for students and early-career professionals looking to build a consulting career in AI and data engineering.


Location & Travel

  • Location: Sacramento, CA (local/commutable candidates preferred).
  • Commute: Must be able to commute to the assigned office within approximately a 100-mile radius when required.
  • Travel: Up to 50% travel may be required, depending on client engagements.
  • Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance is required.

Compensation

  • Estimated salary range: $100,000 to $103,000 per year. This range is provided in compliance with pay-transparency requirements and reflects factors such as experience, skills, location, and business needs. Final compensation will be determined by Confidential Client based on qualifications and relevant considerations.
