Role Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level AI Data Analyst to support Headquarters Marine Corps (HQMC) Installations & Logistics (I&L) and the Global Positioning Network (GPN) program. This hybrid role supports the Pentagon/Arlington, VA area and delivers data preparation, automation, routine analytics, and visualization work that informs Department of Defense decision-making.


What You’ll Do

  • Prepare, cleanse, validate, and transform structured and unstructured datasets for GPN analytics and DoD decision support.
  • Build and maintain Python, SQL, and R scripts to automate recurring data preparation, validation, and reporting tasks.
  • Execute routine analytical and predictive models under senior analyst guidance.
  • Create and maintain dashboards, charts, scorecards, and visual products in Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools.
  • Support development of reusable data pipelines, templates, and automated workflows to increase analytical efficiency.
  • Perform data quality checks, investigate anomalies, and document corrective actions.
  • Integrate data from multiple government systems into consolidated analytical datasets.
  • Generate recurring reports, performance metrics, and trend analyses for government leadership.
  • Document scripts, queries, data models, and analytical procedures to ensure repeatability and knowledge transfer.
  • Assist with testing, validating, and deploying analytical products while maintaining DoD cybersecurity and data governance practices.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance and ability to obtain a CAC card.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • 1–3 years of experience supporting data analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, or software development.
  • Hands-on experience using Python, SQL, or R for data preparation, scripting, automation, or analysis.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and at least one BI platform (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent).
  • Working knowledge of relational databases, SQL queries, and data management principles.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with senior analysts and government personnel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting DoD, Department of the Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, or other federal organizations.
  • Experience developing automated data pipelines or reusable scripts.
  • Familiarity with Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub, or other version control platforms.
  • Experience with cloud analytics environments such as Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, AWS, or Databricks.
  • Knowledge of data governance, cybersecurity, and handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
  • Experience building interactive dashboards and executive visualization products.
  • Exposure to AI/ML or predictive analytics concepts.

Compensation

  • Estimated base: $142,629 per year (estimated).
