What You’ll Do

This entry-level AI & Automation Engineer role supports the Enterprise Data & Analytics team to evaluate, prototype, and help deliver AI and automation solutions that improve business processes. Working with mentorship from senior engineers, you will:

  • Assist in identifying business opportunities for AI and automation.
  • Help translate stakeholder needs into technical requirements and implementation plans.
  • Support feasibility assessments by gathering data, documenting assumptions, and summarizing risks.
  • Contribute to AI solution development: prototyping, testing, and documentation.
  • Learn and apply prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented workflows, and model evaluation techniques.
  • Build and maintain scripts, workflow automations, or low-code solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Assist with integration work to connect systems and data sources.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot automations with support from senior team members.
  • Write clean, maintainable code in collaboration with the team and participate in code reviews.
  • Support testing, debugging, and deployment across the software lifecycle.
  • Participate in agile planning, team ceremonies, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Follow responsible AI principles, data privacy requirements, and security guidelines; maintain documentation and traceability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field — or equivalent practical experience.
  • Coursework or project experience in software development using Python.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and basic workflows (data preparation, model training, evaluation).
  • Exposure to automation tools, scripting, or workflow platforms.
  • Understanding of Git-based collaboration and basic testing practices.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and clear communication skills.

Valued (but not required)

  • Internship, research, or project experience in AI, automation, or software engineering.
  • Familiarity with APIs, data pipelines, or low-code platforms.

Work Arrangement

This role is offered as a hybrid position based in Wilmington, DE, with an expectation of approximately 3 days per week in the local office and 2 days remote. Specific schedules will be coordinated with your team.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range (per source): $64,915 - $95,019 per year.
  • Comprehensive benefits typically include medical, dental, vision, life & accident insurance, disability coverage, 401(k), paid time off, parental leave, tuition assistance, and other employee programs.
  • Eligible employees may participate in discretionary bonuses or other reward programs.
