Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is looking for an Aggregate Management Trainee in New Britain, CT — a hands-on, rotational development program designed to build frontline operational leaders in manufacturing and quarry operations. This role offers structured on-the-job training across quarry, plant, mobile equipment, quality and production systems, with a clear path to Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent roles.
What You’ll Do
- Learn and model a safety-first culture; actively participate in and support site safety programs (MSHA/OSHA compliance).
- Rotate through quarry, plant, and mobile-equipment operations to develop practical production and maintenance skills.
- Support production, maintenance, and logistics tasks to understand workflows and drive operational performance.
- Gain exposure to drilling & blasting, mine plan execution, and material movement to reduce rehandling and improve efficiency.
- Work with production/performance systems (e.g., PEAK) — production tracking, downtime coding, and performance analysis.
- Partner with Quality Control to understand product specifications, consistency, and customer requirements.
- Support small capital projects from planning through execution and closeout.
- Participate in cross-site rotations and continuous improvement initiatives; observe and develop frontline supervisory practices.
- Build basic budgeting, cost-control, and financial-performance understanding.
- Provide informal leadership and team support while developing communication, decision-making, and accountability skills.
- Maintain reliable attendance and complete required development assignments.
Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to work effectively with management and cross-functional teams.
- Action-oriented, high energy, and motivated to learn in hands-on operational environments.
- Demonstrated listening skills and the ability to follow complex verbal and written instructions.
- Quick technical learner with an aptitude for production systems and operational tools.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in civil, mining, mechanical, construction-focused engineering, or a related discipline.
- Internship, co-op, or prior experience in mining, construction, manufacturing, heavy industry, or similar hands-on operational settings is preferred.
Work Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, criminal background check, and driving record review.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to safely operate a vehicle.
- Willingness to travel, work away from home when required, and work nights/weekends as needed.
- Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas.
- Compliance with applicable MSHA, DOT, OSHA, environmental, and other regulatory requirements.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
