What You’ll Do

You will join a cross-functional engineering team to design and deliver AI-driven analytics and automation software for advanced semiconductor equipment. Your work will combine large-scale equipment telemetry, diagnostics, and Agentic AI to improve equipment performance, reliability, and throughput in manufacturing environments.

  • Design and implement production-quality backend services, APIs, and orchestration layers for equipment diagnostics, monitoring, and predictive maintenance
  • Build Agentic AI integrations that combine LLMs with engineering data, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and tool/function calling for automated workflows
  • Develop data pipelines and streaming architectures to ingest, transform, and store high-volume equipment telemetry (SQL, NoSQL, vector DBs)
  • Interface software with complex hardware platforms, telemetry streams, and machine control systems in production fabs
  • Create secure, high-performance solutions that operate in customer-controlled, highly secure manufacturing environments (including disconnected/air-gapped deployments)
  • Deliver intuitive web-based tools and UIs that simplify troubleshooting and diagnostics for semiconductor engineers
  • Collaborate across software, hardware, systems, data science, and product teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
  • Drive code quality, testing, CI/CD, and continuous improvement across the platform

Qualifications — Required

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
  • 5+ years professional software engineering experience building production applications
  • Strong Python skills plus experience in at least one object-oriented language (Java, C++, or C#)
  • Proven experience developing scalable backend services, APIs, databases, and distributed systems
  • Experience with data-intensive applications (SQL, NoSQL, streaming platforms, large-scale data processing)
  • Experience integrating with hardware-in-the-loop systems, instrumentation, telemetry, controls, or IoT platforms
  • Familiarity with cloud-native development, CI/CD, automated testing, and source control
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; ability to work in multi-disciplinary engineering teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in semiconductor equipment, inspection systems, industrial automation, robotics, or scientific instrumentation
  • Hands-on experience building applications that use LLMs, Agentic AI frameworks, RAG, tool calling, or AI orchestration
  • Experience with vector databases, knowledge graphs, ML pipelines, or predictive analytics
  • Experience building React-based or modern web UIs
  • Knowledge of equipment diagnostics, reliability engineering, or operational analytics
  • Experience deploying software in air-gapped, secure, or customer-controlled environments

Total Rewards & Pay

Base Pay Range (primary location Milpitas, CA): $136,300 - $199,900 annually.

Confidential Client’s total rewards may also include performance incentives and benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) with match, employee stock purchase program (ESPP), tuition assistance, wellness benefits, paid time off, and family leave. Actual pay will depend on experience, qualifications, and location.
