What You’ll Do
You will work in the field to protect vulnerable adults by receiving and investigating allegations of abuse, neglect, self‑neglect, and exploitation. Day-to-day duties include assessment, case planning, legal coordination, and follow-up.
- Receive and investigate reports/intakes and document findings.
- Conduct comprehensive capacity and risk assessments for incapacitated adults.
- Develop, coordinate, and monitor individualized service plans with adults, families, and community providers.
- Prepare legal documentation, initiate court actions for involuntary protective services when necessary, and provide testimony at hearings.
- Serve as temporary guardian when authorized by the court and as required by policy.
- Maintain accurate, timely case records and complete required paperwork.
- Make collateral contacts (medical providers, caregivers, law enforcement, service agencies) to gather history and support case decisions.
- Apply self-protection techniques and follow safety protocols during home visits and fieldwork.
- Travel extensively across assigned counties (valid driver’s license and required auto insurance must be maintained).
Minimum Qualifications
Level I
- Bachelor’s degree in any field is required.
Level II
- Master’s degree (any field), OR
- Bachelor’s degree plus one year of professional social work experience.
Additional requirements for both levels
- Ability to complete new-worker training (Adult Protective Services New Worker Training Academy) and ongoing training.
- Valid driver’s license and required automobile insurance.
- Ability to work in a field-based role that requires regular travel and court appearances.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in adult protective services, social work, case management, or related investigations.
- Knowledge of elder abuse, neglect, exploitation statutes, and reporting procedures.
- Strong written documentation and verbal communication skills; comfortable providing court testimony.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
- Crisis intervention skills and experience with community resource coordination.
Compensation & Benefits
- Level I (H26A): $38,857.35 per year + full state employee benefits
- Level II (H26B): $41,770.20 per year + full state employee benefits
This is a civil‑service position in Oklahoma. The assigned pay level depends on qualifications and experience. Confidential client is a Fair Chance Employer.
Work Environment & Travel
- Field-based role with extensive travel to client homes, medical and legal appointments, and community agencies.
- Frequent in-person contacts with adults at risk; role may require safety planning and application of self-protection techniques.
- Occasional court appearances and coordination with law enforcement and legal representatives.
