What You’ll Do
Serve as a territory-based Admissions Counselor for a confidential client in higher education. You will recruit, counsel, and support prospective undergraduate students and families through the enrollment process, representing the institution at on- and off-campus events.
- Recruit, admit, and help enroll academically qualified undergraduate students.
- Plan and execute territory-focused recruitment events: high school visits, college fairs, national fairs, and on-campus activities.
- Maintain consistent, documented outreach and follow-up with prospective students, families, school counselors, faculty, and alumni.
- Review application materials and provide admission decision recommendations to senior admissions staff.
- Counsel students and families on admissions requirements and the financial aid process.
- Assist in designing and running recruitment campaigns, visits, and yield-building events on and off campus.
- Use data (including vendor-supplied lists and CRM tools) to shape territory strategy and improve outreach effectiveness.
- Travel as needed to meet recruitment goals (approximately 10–12 weeks per year, including some nights and weekends).
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Associate Director of Admissions or their designee.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Entry-level role: no prior admissions experience required; 0–2 years of related experience preferred.
- Ability to travel extensively in a designated recruitment territory (approx. 10–12 weeks annually).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Availability for occasional evenings and weekend events.
- Authorization to work in the United States if selected.
- Ability to pass a background check, where required.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in college admissions, recruitment, or higher-education outreach.
- Experience with CRM systems, lead vendors, or admissions databases.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience building relationships with high school counselors and community partners.
- Comfort using data to inform recruitment strategy and measure outcomes.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple travel and event commitments.
Compensation & Schedule
- Employment type: Full-time, exempt, 12-month position (entry-level).
- Location: Madison, NJ (territory-based recruitment work).
- Estimated salary (source posting): $61,771 per year — estimated.
- Travel: Approximately 10–12 weeks per year; includes nights and weekends for events.
