What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused Administrative Specialist 2 to support the Trial Court Administrator’s (TCA) Office. This role supports day-to-day vicinage operations, coordinates virtual courtroom and event logistics, and serves as a primary contact for internal and external stakeholders. The position is full-time and offers a hybrid work schedule (may qualify for up to two days remote per week).
Key Responsibilities
- Answer a high volume of phone inquiries from internal and external customers and provide timely, professional responses.
- Ensure AOC and vicinage procedures are followed for media and public access requests to court proceedings.
- Track and coordinate virtual courtroom and technology-room scheduling and usage.
- Moderate virtual events and assist with the technical aspects of remote hearings and presentations.
- Assist with planning, leading, and coordinating vicinage events; maintain the vicinage event calendar.
- Maintain public notices on courthouse monitors and ensure online vicinage information is accurate and up to date.
- Design and deliver PowerPoint presentations and other event materials.
- Support other administrative and operational tasks as assigned by the Trial Court Administrator.
Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree.
- Substitution: Applicants without the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis (one year experience = 30 semester hour credits). An associate degree plus two years of additional paraprofessional/professional experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
- Strong written and oral communication skills; professional customer service orientation.
- Comfortable managing multiple simultaneous deadlines and priorities.
- General knowledge of court administration and familiarity with administrative systems is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.

Compensation & Work Arrangement
- Salary range: $54,434.49 – $89,181.84 per year (Schedule A); $54,434.49 – $84,722.75 per year (Schedule B). Newly hired individuals typically start at the minimum; internal promotions/advancements follow the stated rules.
- Hybrid schedule: may qualify for up to two days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. Remote participation requires installation of multifactor authentication on a phone or tablet and high-speed home internet.

Additional Information & Requirements
- Driver’s License: Required only if operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties.
- Authorization to Work: US citizenship not required; selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US per DHS/USCIS regulations.
- Background Check: Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check, including fingerprinting.
- Residency Law: In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70) (the "New Jersey First Act"), persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish and maintain principal residence in the State of New Jersey unless an exemption is granted.
- Regular and predictable physical presence on-site is required as an essential function of the role.

- Prior experience supporting court administration, legal offices, or public-sector organizations.
- Familiarity with virtual courtroom platforms and event moderation.
- Experience with court administrative systems or scheduling platforms.
- Strong presentation and graphic/layout skills for developing clear PowerPoint materials.
