Position Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Actuarial Risk Modeling Associate to support actuarial and risk-modeling work within a non-life insurance practice in Rosemont, IL. This role is designed for candidates completing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field who are committed to progressing through actuarial exams and building technical modeling experience.
What You’ll Do
- Apply actuarial methods to assess risk and support clients’ financial stability and growth.
- Perform complex data analysis and statistical modeling to identify trends and inform decisions.
- Build and validate financial and risk-prediction models using industry-standard techniques.
- Implement model solutions and assist with testing and documentation.
- Collaborate with engagement teams to deliver client-facing analysis and clear deliverables.
- Contribute to strategic forecasting and scenario analysis to anticipate market developments.
- Support independent assessments and compliance-related work to ensure transparency.
- Use available tools and technologies (including AI where appropriate) to increase efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum 3.0 overall GPA.
- Commitment to meeting educational requirements and to undertaking actuarial exams prior to starting full-time.
- Strong analytical ability and comfort working with large datasets.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for client and team interactions.
- Willingness to travel up to 20%.
Preferred Qualifications
- GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Demonstrated experience with statistical or actuarial modeling (class projects, internships, or coursework).
- Familiarity with programming or data tools (e.g., R, Python, SQL) — beneficial but not required.
- Interest in leveraging AI/automation to improve workflows and deliverables.
- Team-oriented mindset and intellectual curiosity to develop new skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $53,500 — $104,000 per year. Actual compensation within the range will depend on skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable laws in Illinois.
- Eligible employees may receive an annual discretionary bonus.
- Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, retirement plan options, paid time off, and other programs. Exact benefits will be provided by Confidential Client at offer.
Location & Travel
- Job location: Rosemont, IL (on-site or hybrid per client policy).
- Travel up to 20% may be required for client engagements or training.
