Summary
Confidential Client is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join their Government & Public Services practice in Minneapolis, MN. This entry-level/full-time role focuses on building actuarial and financial models, analyzing large data sets, quantifying risk, and translating technical results into practical recommendations for public-sector clients.
What You’ll Do
As an Actuarial Analyst you will be a core member of client service teams supporting transformation, performance improvement, and mission-driven engagements. Typical responsibilities include:
- Build financial and mathematical models to support decision-making and forecasting
- Analyze large datasets using statistical methods to quantify risk and identify trends
- Translate technical results and modeling outcomes into clear, actionable recommendations for clients
- Support compliance with industry standards and applicable regulations
- Work collaboratively across strategy, operations, and technology teams to deliver measurable client value
- Prepare client deliverables, visualizations, and documentation with a focus on accuracy and clarity
- Contribute to project planning and may lead smaller workstreams or tasks under supervision
The Team
Confidential Client’s Government & Public Services practice serves government agencies, higher education, nonprofit organizations, and other public-sector entities. Teams work across strategy, operations, and IT-enabled transformation. You’ll collaborate with consultants, data analysts, and subject-matter experts in a growth-oriented environment that supports professional development and actuarial credentialing.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university (expected graduation by Summer 2027) OR completed a bachelor’s degree or higher in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
- Ability to reside within a commutable distance (e.g., ~100-mile radius) of the assigned Minneapolis office with ability to commute daily if required
- Ability to travel up to ~50%, on average, depending on client needs
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Preferred Qualifications
- Cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher
- Internship, project, or coursework experience in actuarial science, statistics, data analysis, or financial modeling
- Progress toward actuarial credentials (Society of Actuaries, Casualty Actuarial Society, or Joint Board for Enrollment of Actuaries)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality deliverables
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment
Compensation & Logistics
- Employment type: Full-time
- Estimated salary range (disclosed by client): $88,000 to $91,000 per year
- Standard consulting travel and project-hour expectations may apply
- This position is intended as an entry-level opportunity. Compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location-specific factors.
