What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to support the Insurance Risk team. This early-career actuarial role works under manager guidance and contributes to actuarial modeling, validation, reporting, and model governance.
- Support quarterly and ad‑hoc insurance risk reporting and analysis; prepare, validate, and present results and insights to stakeholders.
- Modify, maintain, operate, and document actuarial models (spreadsheets and analytical tools).
- Assist in evaluating model change requests and analyze impacts using market sensitivities, Statutory and GAAP accounting, and actuarial techniques.
- Participate in scoped actuarial projects — perform analysis, test project implementations, and communicate status or blockers.
- Support business controls and model governance: validate inputs/outputs, ensure process consistency, and collect evidence for controls.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree (Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related).
- 1–3 years relevant experience.
- At least 1 actuarial exam passed.
Preferred
- VEE coursework completed.
- Actuarial internship experience.
- Experience with MS Excel, VBA, MS Access, or other database applications.
Location & Work Model
- Location (authoritative): Minneapolis, MN.
- Work model: Role is based in Minneapolis with telecommute/remote capability noted. The client emphasizes in-office collaboration — typical expectation is working onsite at least four (4) days per week with flexibility for up to one (1) remote day, though specific schedules may vary by role.
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated base salary: $66,700 – $91,700 per year.
- Compensation philosophy: pay-for-performance; total compensation may vary by experience and work location.
