Overview

This role supports a confidential client in higher education as an Accreditation and Data Analyst based in Arlington, VA. The role focuses on institutional effectiveness through project management, survey research, accreditation compliance support, peer benchmarking, and data visualization. This is a full-time, exempt position that requires in-person attendance at the Arlington (DMV) campus; local candidates are strongly encouraged.


What You’ll Do

  • Manage incoming data and research requests for Planning & Institutional Effectiveness (PIE); prioritize work, document timelines, and maintain stakeholder communication.
  • Maintain and improve PIE resources (website, repositories, data dictionaries) and develop clear, actionable data visualizations and dashboards.
  • Own the institutional survey portfolio (planning, instrument review, sampling, deployment, response-rate strategy, redaction, and dissemination).
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses (longitudinal analysis, mixed methods, focus groups, interviews, thematic/open-ended response analysis).
  • Develop dashboards that integrate completion, first-destination, employment, earnings, and graduate education data to support program review and strategic planning.
  • Assemble, maintain, and manage accreditation evidence and compliance documentation (including support for regional accreditation reviews and monitoring submissions).
  • Coordinate accreditation visit logistics, documentation, and institutional responses; support adherence to accreditation principles and public-disclosure requirements.
  • Produce peer-benchmarking and comparative analyses (IPEDS, College Scorecard, state and third-party sources) to inform enrollment management, program development, and resource allocation.
  • Provide training and guidance to faculty and staff on survey design, accreditation requirements, data collection, interpretation, and use of results.
  • Present findings and recommendations to campus stakeholders, including senior leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, social science, public administration, business, data analytics, statistics, or related field.
  • Minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in institutional research, institutional effectiveness, assessment, accreditation support, survey research, program evaluation, or similar.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, administer, analyze, and report survey results.
  • Proven skills analyzing quantitative and qualitative data and translating findings into clear reports, dashboards, and presentations.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate with faculty, administrators, and technical staff.
  • Experience with large or complex datasets and sound practices for data quality, confidentiality, and documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and at least one survey, statistical, BI, or data-visualization tool.
  • Ability to interpret policies, standards, and regulatory requirements and keep organized evidence and documentation.
  • Commitment to integrity, discretion, and responsible stewardship of institutional information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in higher education, institutional research, assessment, statistics, data analytics, public administration, or related field.
  • Four or more years of relevant experience in institutional research, accreditation support, or program evaluation.
  • Direct experience supporting regional accreditation (preferably SACSCOC) and familiarity with accreditation standards and processes.
  • Experience managing survey platforms (Qualtrics, Watermark CES) and survey portfolios.
  • Experience with data-visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, R, Python, SPSS, or SAS.
  • Familiarity with FERPA, data privacy, suppression/redaction, and ethical use of institutional data.
  • Experience with post-graduation outcome analyses, benchmarking, longitudinal studies, and presenting results to senior leadership.

Work Environment & Location

  • Primarily in-person at the main Arlington, VA campus (2807 N Glebe). Occasional hybrid or remote work may be available per university policy.
  • Frequent collaboration with faculty, staff, administrators, vendors, and external reviewers; occasional evening or extended hours for accreditation reviews and institutional events.
  • Must be able to handle confidential institutional information appropriately.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $65,000–$73,000 per year.
