What You’ll Do
The Accounts Receivable (AR) Support Specialist provides front-line service and support to internal and external customers, helping improve response times and enabling AR specialists to focus on collections. This is an entry-level AR role with career growth potential within a confidential client in the Accounting & Finance industry.
- Demonstrate knowledge of varied account types including strategic, national, professional, government, and fleet accounts
- Manage incoming phone calls, chat, and email (cases) and meet daily productivity goals
- Process and release credit holds after receipt of funds or customer payment commitments
- Resolve customer claims and disputed items promptly and professionally
- Process credit applications, contact references, and set credit limits within delegated authority
- Perform basic account reconciliation related to orders, delivery notices, and cash applications
- Support AR cleanup projects (offsets, write-offs, refunds) and provide process improvement feedback
- Participate in continuous improvement projects and escalate issues beyond scope to leadership
Who You Are / Qualifications
To succeed in this role you bring a blend of customer service, basic accounting knowledge, and the ability to work in a remote, team-oriented environment.
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in business-related field preferred, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years’ experience in credit & collections or customer-facing roles preferred
- Understanding of basic accounting and bookkeeping procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and common business systems
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication across all management levels
- Able to work independently and as part of a distributed team
- Comfortable handling difficult or confrontational customer situations with professionalism
- Strong interpersonal skills: rapport-building, listening, and effective questioning
- Adaptable to change and focused on delivering consistent results
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation range (good faith estimate): $20.25 - $27.00 per hour.
- Actual pay is based on factors such as geographic location, relevant experience, industry knowledge, education, and shift differential (if applicable).

Work Hours & Location
- Remote position; requires working Eastern Time Zone hours.
- Applicant location requirement: United States-based candidates eligible to work for a US employer.
- This role is full-time.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Primarily a sedentary, remote office role: frequent sitting, speaking, and hearing.
- Occasional standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 10 pounds (occasional up to 25 pounds).
