What You’ll Do

Confidential Client seeks Accounts Receivable Specialists to support day-to-day AR operations in Richmond, VA. Roles are available across experience levels — from entry-level AR clerks to senior collections professionals. Typical responsibilities include:

• Contact customers regarding outstanding balances and past-due accounts
• Assist with collection efforts and follow up on payment commitments
• Apply and post customer payments accurately (cash application)
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues
• Reconcile customer accounts and identify outstanding items
• Maintain accurate customer account information and collection notes
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding invoices, balances, and payments
• Partner with internal teams to resolve billing and account issues
• Monitor aging reports and prioritize collection activities
• Assist with month-end close and AR reconciliations
• Maintain AR documentation and support accounting/finance projects as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field is a plus
• Entry-level through experienced Collections and Accounts Receivable candidates encouraged to apply
• Previous collections, AR, billing, or customer service experience is helpful but not required for all roles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; advanced Excel skills preferred for higher-level opportunities
• Experience with accounting or ERP systems is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable communicating with customers regarding balances and payment issues

Compensation & Location

Estimated pay for similar roles on this posting is approximately $36,618 per year. Actual compensation will depend on experience, specific role level, and applicable local laws.
