What You’ll Do

The Confidential Client is hiring an Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage customer accounts, secure timely payments, and deliver excellent customer service. This role focuses on collections, account reconciliation, and clear communication with customers and internal teams to reduce credit risk and maintain strong client relationships.

  • Implement and manage collection activities for past-due accounts using multiple customer-account systems
  • Document all customer and internal communications thoroughly to maintain accurate account histories
  • Review account details to determine appropriate next steps while preserving customer relationships
  • Manage a portfolio of accounts through phone, email, fax and customer portals
  • Listen actively and communicate clearly to resolve billing and service inquiries
  • Explain available solutions and follow-up to ensure customers feel supported
  • Coordinate with internal departments to resolve disputes and mitigate credit risk
  • Participate in training and continuous learning to improve product, process and service knowledge

Career Path & Level Expectations

Entry Level

  • 0–2 years of accounting or related experience; associate degree in accounting/finance or equivalent experience
  • Can identify account types, billing processes, and service levels; navigate multiple systems
  • Manages a single line-of-business portfolio and handles inbound calls and basic reconciliations
  • Basic Excel and Microsoft Office competency

Intermediate Level

  • 2–4 years of accounting or related experience; bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Independently handles unapplied cash, delinquent-account billing and other AR processes; assists with training new staff
  • Manages two lines of business and demonstrates advanced Excel skills

Senior Level

  • 3–5 years of accounting/billing experience; bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance preferred
  • Manages three or more lines of business, processes adjustments/credit requests within set limits
  • Proficient interpreting business credit reports and mentoring collectors; strong analytical and presentation skills

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree (preferred) or equivalent experience; bachelor’s preferred for higher levels
  • 0–5 years of accounting, billing or accounts receivable experience depending on level
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and intermediate Excel skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical ability and ability to work under pressure
  • Able to work on-site as required by the client
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; reasonable accommodations are available upon request

Compensation & Employment Type

  • Hiring range: $19.50 – $22.00 per hour (based on experience)
  • Employment type: Full-time (hours and schedule set by the client)
  • Training and career development opportunities are available
