Overview

Confidential Client is hiring for a full-time role in the Revenue Accounting Unit at its headquarters in Blythewood, SC. This role focuses on daily and monthly reconciliations, account maintenance, error-batch research, and customer correspondence across multiple payment types and systems (including Phoenix and SCEIS). The position's posted salary range is $43,859 - $46,589 per year.


What You’ll Do

  • Daily and monthly reconciliation of services to revenues for branches, counties, and motor carrier offices statewide.
  • Balance multiple payment types (credit/debit cards, checks, electronic transactions) and reconcile relevant general ledger codes and disbursements.
  • Prepare and verify multiple bank deposits (County, AR) and reconcile deposit slips to validation slips.
  • Review and reconcile refunds on a daily and monthly basis.
  • Research and resolve items in error batch files (e.g., Fee Collection, Shortage & Overage Accounts, County Collection Reports, Override Report, chargebacks, bank adjustments).
  • Post payments and maintain accounts across systems (Phoenix, SCEIS) and Excel; prepare invoices and documentation for sales of information.
  • Prepare written correspondence for external and internal customers; respond to Phoenix system inquiries using Word and Outlook.
  • Train and cross-train team members, meet daily and monthly deadlines, attend required training, and perform other duties as assigned by Revenue Accounting Management.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

  • High school diploma plus entry-level experience in accounting or bookkeeping. A bachelor’s degree with multiple accounting courses may substitute for required work experience.
  • Must complete a nationwide criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
  • Knowledge of accounting, auditing, and bookkeeping principles and practices.
  • Strong math, research, organizational, and analytical skills; ability to analyze, interpret, and apply financial procedures and regulations.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with all levels of an organization and the public.
  • Strong time-management skills and the ability to meet daily and monthly deadlines.
  • Self-starter with a positive disposition, professional conduct, and flexibility to support department needs.
  • Prolonged sitting at a computer terminal is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years working with Excel and Word and a strong overall computer background.
  • Experience reconciling bank deposits, refunds, and general ledger accounts in large transactional environments is beneficial.
