What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day accounting operations for a Legal Services practice. This is a hands-on, in-person role based in Wyoming, MI.
- Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely, accurate vendor payments
- Review, verify, and process customer refunds with required documentation
- Perform bookkeeping tasks: record transactions, maintain ledgers, and file supporting documents
- Reconcile bank statements, vendor accounts, and general ledger balances
- Assist with month-end close activities and account reconciliations
- Prepare spreadsheets and standard financial reports for the Finance team
- Respond professionally to vendor and internal payment inquiries
- Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and basic GAAP practices
- Provide general accounting and administrative support; perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or accounts payable experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, basic formulas)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills; ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar)
- Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Experience supporting a multi-entity or service-based organization
