Accounting Specialist
The Accounting Specialist role is an entry-level position designed for recent graduates to gain comprehensive hands-on experience in various accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The position supports month-end close activities, audit preparation, and international banking operations while collaborating with internal teams to maintain accurate financial records and improve accounting processes. What You’ll Do
- Support accounts payable activities, including invoice processing, purchase order matching, and reconciliations
- Assist with accounts receivable: billing, cash application, collections, and account maintenance
- Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on past-due accounts
- Prepare account reconciliations and assist with month-end close activities
- Support monthly financial reporting and basic accounting analysis
- Process domestic and international ACH and wire transactions
- Assist in gathering documentation and schedules for external audits
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate financial records
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and procedures
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (recent graduates encouraged to apply)
- Internship, co-op, or entry-level experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, AP, or AR
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and accrual-based accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Effective verbal and written communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have
- QuickBooks experience
- Exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable, or reconciliations
- Collections or billing experience
- Experience supporting audits or month-end close activities
Job Type & Location
- Full-time, Permanent
- Location: Odessa, FL (fully onsite)
Pay & Benefits
- Pay range: $55,000 - $60,000 per year
- Benefits: 401(k) with employer match, healthcare/dental/vision (Florida Blue), paid life insurance, PTO (11 days/year), 9 paid holidays with no waiting period
