What You’ll Do
This role supports the accounting team by handling both accounts payable and accounts receivable duties, administering fee assessment programs, and providing general departmental support.
- Accounts payable: review, verify, and reconcile vendor invoices and supporting documentation for accuracy
- Process, analyze, and reconcile vendor payments, including overpayments/underpayments and retroactive rate adjustments
- Assist vendors with billing and payment inquiries; provide training/support on proprietary invoicing software and procedures
- Accounts receivable and trust management: analyze, reconcile, and manage trust accounts and subsidiary ledgers
- Complete third‑party benefits applications and reporting; prepare and process contracts with residential vendors
- Administer fee assessment programs in accordance with applicable legislation and internal policy; prepare written communications related to assessments
- Provide general department support: data entry, filing, scanning, mail processing, and maintaining accounting files and spreadsheets
- Provide excellent customer service to vendors, consumers, and internal staff
Qualifications
- Minimum: Three (3) years of related accounting experience; OR
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) plus one (1) year related experience; OR
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four‑year college or university
- Working knowledge of general accounting principles, AP/AR systems, and office practices
- Comfortable with regular data entry and preparing spreadsheets; basic Microsoft Excel skills required
- Clear, organized written and verbal communication skills; able to explain complex information simply
- Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation, or acceptable substitute (required)
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay range: $26.37 - $37.25 per hour (non‑exempt). Typical starting pay: $26.37 - $29.11/hour depending on experience and internal equity.
