Role Overview

This Accounting Field Auditor position is a full-time, entry-level auditing role based in Downtown Honolulu, HI. You will join a confidential client in the Accounting & Finance industry to perform compliance and payroll-related audits, support trust fund operations, and assist with employer reporting. This role is a temporary-to-hire opportunity with potential growth into accounts payable, payroll, and broader accounting responsibilities.

  • Pay: $24 - $28 per hour
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Location: Downtown Honolulu, HI
  • Employment type: Full-time, temporary-to-hire

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform compliance audits to verify employer contributions against fund policies and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Review payroll records, timesheets, W-2s, 1099s, and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare audit worksheets, reports, and findings for Board and Committee review.
  • Assist with delinquency reporting, audit status tracking, and paystub audits.
  • Process apprentice adjustment billings and track invoices.
  • Support payroll activities for the Training Fund and provide backup for employer reporting functions.
  • Assist with monthly mailings, filing, scanning, database updates, and records management.
  • Maintain inventory records and update internal systems.
  • Perform other accounting, administrative, and operational tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.
  • Previous accounting, auditing, payroll, bookkeeping, or administrative experience is a plus.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
  • Valid driver’s license required for future hire-on responsibilities.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
