What You’ll Do

This Accounting Field Auditor role in Honolulu, HI is an entry-level auditing and accounting position focused on compliance audits, employer reporting reviews, and trust fund operations. You will help ensure accurate contributions and clean payroll records while gaining experience in payroll and accounting functions.

• Perform compliance audits to verify employer contributions are accurate and follow fund policies and collective bargaining agreements.
• Review payroll records, timesheets, W-2s, 1099s, and other payroll documentation.
• Prepare audit worksheets, written reports, and findings for Board of Trustee or Committee review.
• Assist with delinquency reporting, audit status tracking, and paystub audits.
• Process apprentice adjustment billings and track/process invoices.
• Support payroll activities for the Training Fund and provide backup for employer reporting tasks and presentations.
• Maintain filing, scanning, records management, inventory logs, and update databases.
• Provide general accounting, administrative, and operational support as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

We seek a detail-oriented, organized candidate with an interest in auditing and payroll accounting.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred (or equivalent coursework).
• Previous accounting, auditing, payroll, bookkeeping, or administrative experience is a plus.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills; ability to work with spreadsheets and prepare reports.
• Valid driver’s license required for future hire-on responsibilities; reliable transportation.
• Professional communication skills and ability to work onsite with occasional field visits if converted to permanent hire.

Pay & Benefits

• Pay: $24 - $28 per hour (approximately $47,645/year estimated).

Schedule & Location

• Full-time: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
• Onsite in downtown Honolulu, HI (Honolulu Metropolitan Area).
• During the temporary period, driving is not required. Once converted to permanent, occasional driving duties may be required.
