Position Overview
Confidential Client is seeking a detail-oriented, curious, and communicative Accounting Clerk to join their Finance team in Chicago, IL. This entry-level, full-time role provides exposure to treasury operations, partner accounting, tax support, and financial reporting. You will assist finance leadership with a broad range of assignments while developing practical accounting and office skills.
What You’ll Do
- Perform daily cash reporting to management and support treasury activities.
- Assist the Treasury Manager with bank and other account reconciliations.
- Gather data for monthly and quarterly debt compliance reporting.
- Prepare, maintain, and file partner deliverables.
- Support Tax Manager with partner deliverables, certified mail runs, Form 1099 data clean-up, and year‑end tax return package assembly.
- Assist the financial reporting and compliance team with account reconciliations and supporting documentation.
- Route documents, obtain signatures, and help code and submit invoices to Accounts Payable after approvals.
- Maintain recordkeeping, file structure, and shared drives (Google Drive).
- Complete additional finance or clerical tasks as requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
- Entry-level (0–2 years) office or accounting experience; internships or coursework in accounting are a plus.
- Familiarity with Microsoft and Google productivity suites (Excel, Google Sheets, Word, Docs) and a strong desire to deepen those skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively on a team and manage multiple priorities.
Compensation & Employment Details
- Employment type: Full-time.
- Location: Chicago, IL (on-site).
- Compensation: $55,000 – $65,000 per year, commensurate with experience, qualifications, location, and education.
