Accounting Associate

What You’ll Do
This is an entry-level Accounting Associate role supporting the accounting function under the direct guidance of the Controller. You will learn end-to-end Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes and help maintain accurate financial records.
- Process and enter vendor invoices accurately and on time
- Execute weekly check runs
- Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoice and payment status
- Reconcile vendor statements
- Prepare, review, and submit daily/weekly customer invoices
- Enter AR data, apply customer payments and remittances to open invoices
- Submit invoices through customer billing portals as required
- Reconcile payments to pending Accounts Receivable items
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate records
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Controller, with training provided
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field — or equivalent coursework/experience
- 0–2 years of professional accounting experience (entry-level candidates encouraged)
- Exposure to billing or invoicing is a plus
- Willingness to learn Sage accounting software; prior exposure is helpful but not required
- Strong working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office
- Able to identify and correct financial discrepancies
- Organized, reliable, and able to meet deadlines
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a positive, can-do attitude; able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Eagerness to learn and grow into broader accounting responsibilities
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly rate: $20–$23 per hour, DOE
- Full-time, in-office position

Work Schedule & Location
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Location: On-site in Warrenton, VA (this role is not remote)
