Position Overview

Confidential Client, a U.S. subsidiary in the biotechnology & medical devices industry, is hiring an Accounting Associate to join their finance team in Santa Fe Springs, CA. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional (entry-level to 1–3 years’ experience) who can manage day-to-day accounting operations, support month-end close, and help maintain accurate financial records to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain general ledger accounts, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable; ensure timely payments and collections
• Support month-end and year-end close activities and prepare financial statements and reports
• Perform bank reconciliations and investigate/resolve discrepancies
• Prepare and file tax-related reports (e.g., sales tax) and support regulatory filings as required
• Analyze financial data and provide actionable insights for budgeting and forecasting
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting controls (and IFRS where applicable)
• Assist with internal and external audits by compiling documentation and responding to inquiries
• Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve accounting issues and improve processes

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA-eligible preferred
• 1–3 years of accounting experience; strong internship experience considered
• Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Solid understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and basic tax regulations
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
• Effective analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

• Experience with ERP systems
• Familiarity with multi-state or international tax compliance
• Prior audit support experience
