Confidential Client is hiring an Accounting Associate to join their finance team in Charlotte, NC. This full-time role supports multi-entity accounting operations (AR/AP, treasury, reconciliations, invoicing) and partners regularly with sales teams and third-party clients. Entry-level candidates (0–2 years) are welcome — we value curiosity, strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to adopt AI-enabled productivity tools.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform full-cycle Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable tasks with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Enter and translate transactions, post deposits, and maintain data integrity in QuickBooks/Intuit or similar systems.
  • Prepare monthly close deliverables: account reconciliations, monthly stats, and variance analysis.
  • Reconcile commission and billing discrepancies; follow up on open receivables and reimbursements until resolved.
  • Support daily and monthly treasury activities, including online bank deposits and scanning documents to SharePoint.
  • Generate and submit client invoices for reimbursable expenses; coordinate billing for trade-show activity and other events.
  • Maintain quality-control checkpoints for billing workflows and approval backup.
  • Triage department communications, draft professional responses, and escalate as needed (AI-assisted drafting encouraged).
  • Actively use approved AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Claude) and Excel automation (Power Query, advanced formulas) to accelerate analysis and reporting.
  • Process daily incoming mail and checks; perform other finance admin duties as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • High proficiency in Excel (formulas, data transformation, reporting).
  • Working knowledge of accounting software (QuickBooks/Intuit or equivalent) and Microsoft 365 (Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to influence internal partners and chase down RFIs.
  • Demonstrated discipline: able to multi-task, meet deadlines, and follow through on open items independently.
  • Comfortable learning and using AI-assisted productivity tools as part of daily work.

Desired Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional accounting experience (preferred, not required).
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online / Intuit Enterprise Suite.
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) in a professional setting.
  • Familiarity with expense/automation tools (SAP Concur, RAMP) and reporting tools such as Power BI.
  • Prior exposure to multi-entity or agency-style close processes.

Compensation & Growth

  • Entry-level (0–2 years): $55,000+ base depending on experience; up to 10% bonus potential; 120 hours PTO.
  • Clear growth path within the finance organization for candidates who demonstrate ownership and consistent follow-through.

Schedule & Work Model

  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
  • Hybrid after training: typically 3 days in-office, 2 days remote.
  • Minimal travel (rare, primarily for continuing education).
