Role Overview

The confidential client is hiring an Accountant to join their finance team in Santa Fe Springs, CA. This is a hands-on, full-time accounting role responsible for maintaining accurate books, preparing financial reports, supporting month-end close, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and tax filings. This position is a strong match for a detail-oriented professional with 1–3 years of accounting experience or an entry-level candidate with relevant internships.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely payments and collections
• Support month-end and year-end close activities and assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly
• Prepare and file sales tax reports, tax returns, and other regulatory filings as required
• Analyze financial data to support budgeting, forecasting, and management decision-making
• Ensure compliance with GAAP (and where applicable IFRS) and internal control procedures
• Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve accounting issues and provide documentation for audits
• Assist with internal and external audit requests and provide supporting schedules

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA-eligible preferred)
• 1–3 years of accounting experience; strong internship experience will be considered for entry-level applicants
• Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, or similar) and advanced Excel skills
• Solid understanding of GAAP and basic tax/regulatory requirements
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

• Experience with ERP systems
• Knowledge of multi-state or international tax compliance
• Familiarity with audit processes and supporting documentation
