The Opportunity

Confidential Client (Accounting & Finance) is hiring an entry-level Accountant in River Ridge, LA. This role is part of a Business Management training program that prepares high-potential candidates for progressive leadership roles in accounting and finance, including Controller or VP of Finance responsibilities. You will receive hands-on training across financial reporting, audit, budgeting, and operational finance while working closely with cross-functional teams.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare financial statements and support month-end close activities
• Perform branch audit evaluations and assist with audits to ensure compliance
• Assemble bank reconciliations and account schedules
• Prepare journal entries, expense accruals, and allocations
• Analyze income statement fluctuations and provide variance explanations
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities
• Manage financial records and assist in financial reporting
• Provide process improvement and cost-saving recommendations
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, HR, risk management and operations
• May prepare T&E reports, code transactions, and assist with sales or other tax return preparation

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Planning to attain CPA within 1–2 years (flexible) — demonstrated commitment to the CPA track preferred
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with no more than 2 moving violations and/or at-fault accidents in the past 3 years; no drug- or alcohol-related convictions (DUI/DWI) in the past 5 years
• Authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship now or in the future
• Minimum age: 18
• Willingness to be flexible for career advancement (relocation outside the local area/state possible)

Compensation & Benefits

• Targeted first‑year annual compensation: $55,000 (based on advertised targeted compensation)
• Typical hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; full-time with possible overtime during peak seasons
