What You’ll Do

This is a contract Accountant role supporting a confidential client in the Accounting & Finance industry. You will execute core corporate accounting duties, support month-end close and forecasting, and provide decision-support analysis for business and capital planning.

Key responsibilities:

• Analyze and maintain cost accounting data to ensure accuracy and consistency of financial information.
• Prepare trial balances, balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports; post transactions to accounting systems.
• Coordinate capital budgeting and review financial models, budget presentations, and business cases.
• Gather historical financial data and develop forecasts and projections to support planning.
• Support internal and external audits; prepare reconciliations, work papers, and supporting schedules.
• Perform detailed general ledger account reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Prepare monthly reporting packages and conduct month-end close activities.
• Produce financial trend reports and identify opportunities to improve performance and efficiency.
• Develop financial projections and perform variance investigations to recommend process improvements.
• Present analysis and reporting to management to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decisions.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications and skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, including corporate finance, budgeting & forecasting.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills for financial modeling and presentation.
• Experience with general ledger reconciliations, month-end close, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience supporting audits and preparing reconciliations and work papers.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to present findings to business stakeholders.

Nice-to-have:

• Background in cost accounting and capital budget coordination.
• Experience with forecasting and financial trend analysis.

Pay & Benefits

• Contract pay range: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour.
• Actual pay within this range will depend on qualifications, experience, and other job-related factors.
