What You’ll Do

Our confidential client is seeking an Accountant to support daily accounting activities, month-end close, and financial reporting. This role provides hands-on exposure across general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation while working closely with an established accounting team.

• Assist with daily accounting tasks to maintain accurate and timely financial records
• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual close processes
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Maintain general ledger balances and supporting documentation
• Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports
• Review transactions for accuracy and appropriate account classification
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
• Assist with bank reconciliations and cash-related accounting transactions
• Analyze account activity and identify unusual balances or variances
• Maintain accounting schedules and supporting financial records
• Collaborate with internal departments to research and resolve accounting issues
• Assist with audit preparation and provide requested documentation
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and basic financial analysis tasks
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies
• Assist with special projects and additional accounting responsibilities as assigned

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Approximately 1+ years of accounting experience preferred (internship or strong academic background considered)
• Foundational understanding of general accounting principles and U.S. GAAP
• Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting preferred
• Familiarity with month-end close processes and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
• Experience with accounting software or ERP systems preferred
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills; able to meet deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective written and verbal communication; collaborative team player
• Self-motivated, dependable, and eager to learn and grow professionally
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Compensation & Location

• Estimated salary: $57,783 per year (estimated)
• Location: Greater Milwaukee area (on-site / local) — this position supports core accounting activities and may require occasional collaboration in person with internal teams
