What You’ll Do

You will join Confidential Client as an entry‑level accountant supporting the Accounting, Finance, and Business Strategy teams. This hybrid, full‑time role (2–3 days in office) is based in Novi, MI and focuses on day‑to‑day transactional accounting, monthly close support, ERP maintenance, financial reporting, and process documentation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Record daily bank transactions and post cash activity to the general ledger to support cash flow reporting.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and monitor cash balances.
  • Reconcile and post corporate credit card transactions; monitor for accuracy and potential fraud.
  • Assist accounts receivable with invoicing, collections tracking, and AR updates.
  • Maintain six‑week forecast of intercompany loan activity; ensure balances remain within thresholds.
  • Work with ERP vendor and internal teams to maintain system performance and implement enhancements.
  • Prepare and communicate month‑end requirements; support month/quarter/year‑end closings and audit documentation.
  • Process ACH, check, and wire payments for third‑party and intercompany obligations.
  • Maintain vendor master data in ERP and track monthly vendor spend.
  • Prepare and submit required financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual).
  • Maintain inventory files; analyze purchase and sales transactions and post inventory activity.
  • Ensure invoicing and ERP inventory modules remain synchronized; participate in annual physical inventory.
  • Maintain fixed asset records and record depreciation in ERP.
  • Assist with tax form preparation and responses to internal/external audits.
  • Support pricing, tariff tracking, damaged parts claims, scrap parts lists, and related business strategy activities.
  • Prepare and review journal entries; analyze GL accounts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Follow internal controls and ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies.
  • Perform other accounting and business‑strategy duties as assigned by supervisor and senior management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
  • Experience: Knowledge of general bookkeeping, audits and basic accounting procedures (posting daily financial transactions, payroll, sales revenue, intercompany accounting, reconciliations, banking).
  • Technical skills:
    • Proficiency with MS Office and advanced Excel skills.
    • Hands‑on experience with ERP systems (maintaining modules, vendor lists, inventory and fixed‑asset records).
  • Core competencies:
    • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
    • Analytical thinking and data‑entry accuracy.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication.
    • Ability to work independently and within a team; accept and provide feedback professionally.
    • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
    • Comfort in a changing business environment and meeting tight deadlines.

Work Environment & Logistics

  • Location: Novi, MI — hybrid schedule (typically 2–3 days in office); full time in‑office attendance may be required during training.
  • Employment type: Full time.
  • Travel: Domestic and occasional international travel may be required; annual participation in physical inventory (North Carolina) expected.
  • Overtime: May be required to meet deadlines.
  • Physical: Office environment; ability to participate in presentations and meetings.

Compensation

  • Estimated base pay: $47,905 per year (estimated). This figure is provided by the source posting; actual compensation may vary based on experience and location.
