What You’ll Do

The Confidential Client is seeking an Accountant (or Accounting Technician) to support public-sector financial operations. You will work within the finance team to maintain accurate financial records, support audits and budgeting, and process transactional accounting tasks.

• Audit, analyze, and verify financial records and source documentation
• Prepare financial statements, routine reports, and budget input materials
• Reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts, including bank reconciliations
• Perform full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable tasks as needed
• Process or support payroll activities and related reporting
• Assist with capital asset accounting and financial analysis for special projects
• Support the annual budget process and year-end audit activities
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely, accurate financial information

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates will be considered at the level for which they meet the minimum qualifications; the Confidential Client may hire at the Accountant or Accounting Technician level depending on experience.

Accountant (journey level)

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a closely related field
• Minimum of one (1) year of bookkeeping and accounting work experience (public sector experience preferred)
• Knowledge of accounting, budgeting, auditing, reconciliation, financial recordkeeping, and financial reporting principles and practices
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, and effective communication skills
• Possession of a valid State of California Class C Driver’s License

Accounting Technician (entry level)

• Associate’s degree in accounting or a closely related field
• Minimum of one (1) year of bookkeeping and accounting work experience (public sector experience preferred)
• Possession of a valid State of California Class C Driver’s License

• Employment Type: Full-time
• Estimated pay: $87,229 per year (estimated) — as listed by the source. Actual compensation and benefits will be set by the Confidential Client and communicated during the interview process.
