About the Role

Confidential Client is hiring Account Managers to support a growing portfolio of customers and freight operations in the Tampa, FL area. This is an operational account-management role (not a traditional cold-sales IC). Account Managers ensure freight moves on time, maintain strong customer communication, solve issues before they escalate, and help grow accounts secured by the sales team.

This role is suitable for:

  • Entry-level candidates with strong learning ability and drive (Account Manager I)
  • Candidates with freight brokerage, logistics, or account-management experience (Account Manager II)

Compensation & Levels

  • Account Manager I – $50,000 Base + 6% Commission
  • Account Manager II – $60,000 Base + 6% Commission

Commission is tied to the accounts you manage, providing meaningful upside as your book of business grows.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage day-to-day execution and service for assigned customer accounts
  • Serve as the operational point of contact for customers and internal teams
  • Coordinate with Carrier Sales and operations to secure and service freight
  • Monitor pickups, deliveries, appointments, tracking, and shipment milestones
  • Communicate proactively about delays, changes, recoveries, and service issues
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment
  • Maintain accurate shipment records and account documentation in company systems
  • Protect customer scorecards and service metrics to preserve long-term relationships
  • Identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts through exceptional service
  • Take on larger and more complex accounts as experience and performance increase

Who We’re Looking For

We seek competitive, organized, accountable professionals who want rapid responsibility and earning potential. The ideal candidate:

  • Has a bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Is early in their career seeking upward mobility, or has relevant logistics/account experience and is ready for larger accounts
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with customers and colleagues
  • Prioritizes multiple urgent tasks without losing attention to detail
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift
  • Takes ownership of problems and drives solutions
  • Is motivated by measurable performance and compensation tied to results
  • Wants to build a long-term career in transportation & logistics operations

Previous freight brokerage or transportation experience is not required for Account Manager I. Relevant experience will be considered for AM II placement.

Career Growth

This position has clear upside: successful Account Managers can progress from AM I → AM II → senior account management, major-account leadership, sales, or broader operations leadership. Because compensation includes commission, growing your responsibilities directly increases earnings.

Key Skills & Tools

  • Strong communication and customer-service focus
  • Ability to multitask and manage time under pressure
  • Attention to detail and accuracy with shipment documentation
  • Problem-solving mindset and ownership of outcomes
  • Comfortable coordinating across sales, carrier, and operations teams
  • Familiarity with TMS or shipment-tracking systems is a plus (but not required for AM I)

Employment Type & Location

  • Employment Type: Full-Time
  • Location: Tampa, FL (Greater Tampa Bay Area)
  • Compensation: $50,000 – $60,000 base + commission (6%)
