What You’ll Do

The Government Services Account Coordinator will manage day-to-day operational execution for the confidential client's federal, state, and municipal freight accounts. This hands-on role focuses on reliability, compliance, and precise reporting to meet contractual obligations. You will coordinate carriers, manage award go-lives, monitor shipments, and support continuous improvement of operational performance.

  • Maintain accurate operational records and customer-specific reporting

Carrier Network & Capacity Management

  • Build and maintain a vetted network of high-performing truckload carriers for government and strategic accounts.
  • Maintain carrier performance and compliance scorecards; lead periodic carrier check-ins to review KPIs.
  • Keep carrier contact records, equipment data, and driver information accurate in the TMS.
  • Support trailer pool processes and related technology tools.

Award Go-Lives & Lane Operations

  • Own award go-lives end-to-end: coordinate internal teams and carrier partners to ensure lanes are operational from day one.
  • Track tendered volumes, shipment cadence, and award commitments; proactively flag deviations from contractual obligations.
  • Maintain and update route guides, facility records, and shipper/consignee contacts for all customer sites.

Tracking, Visibility & Exception Management

  • Monitor shipments using visibility tools (FourKites, project44) to maintain continuous in-transit visibility.
  • Quickly identify and resolve operational exceptions; escalate when shipments or carrier relationships are at risk.
  • Follow up to collect PODs, invoices, and required supporting documentation within customer timeframes.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate shipment, equipment, and tender records across government customer accounts.
  • Learn and apply each customer’s KPIs and reporting requirements to daily operations.
  • Generate and distribute operational and lane performance reports as required by account teams.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in logistics, freight operations, or supply chain preferred; motivated entry-level candidates encouraged to apply.
  • Familiarity with TMS, carrier portals, or visibility tools (FourKites, project44) is a plus.
  • Clear, confident verbal and written communication; comfortable representing the account to carrier partners.
  • Strong data-entry accuracy and attention to detail for government reporting and compliance.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; quick to learn new systems and platforms.
  • Available to work Monday–Friday on-site with occasional evening/weekend monitoring as needed.
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor's in Supply Chain, Business, or related field a plus.

Logistics & Compensation

  • Location: On-site at the confidential client's Chicago office (Chicago, IL).
  • Shift: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM CT, Monday–Friday.
  • Salary Range: $50,000–$55,000 per year (starting range; final compensation based on experience and qualifications).
