Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an Access Screener Coordinator to serve as the initial point of contact for individuals seeking behavioral health services. This is an on-site role in Bremerton, WA (30 hours/week).
- Hiring Range: $25.19 – $30.86 per hour
- Schedule: 30 hours per week, on-site (Bremerton, WA)
What You’ll Do
- Triage and screen service requests in person and by phone; refer emergent cases to crisis services and provide de-escalation support when needed.
- Use clinical judgment to assess needs and determine appropriate next steps for individuals in distress or crisis.
- Provide accurate information and referrals based on knowledge of available programs and community resources.
- Assist clients with benefits navigation — become certified as a Navigator to support Medicaid (Apple Health) and related applications.
- Guide clients through DSHS and Washington Health Benefit Exchange application processes.
- Enter and manage intake data in the electronic medical record (EMR); track referrals and outcomes.
- Coordinate intake paperwork and communicate with internal teams to ensure continuity of care.
- Monitor and process provider referrals; support compliance through audits and reporting.
- Deliver respectful, efficient customer service to clients, families, and partner agencies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social services, or a related field.
- Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration (or ability to obtain, per agency requirements).
- Comfortable working on-site in Bremerton, WA.
- Ability and willingness to become certified as a Navigator to assist with Medicaid enrollment.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 2 years of relevant experience working with behavioral health consumers in a clinical or community setting.
- Experience entering data into an electronic medical record (EMR).
- Prior experience in patient access, intake, or care coordination roles.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong verbal communication and customer-service skills; ability to interact sensitively with diverse populations.
- De-escalation and crisis-intervention skills; sound clinical judgment.
- Proficient computer skills; able to enter EMR data accurately while communicating with clients.
- Team-oriented, collaborative approach and ability to build productive relationships across departments.
