Overview
confidential client is hiring an EDI Technical Analyst to support Trading Partner EDI and flat-file integrations in a hybrid role based in Arizona. This role focuses on production support, technical analysis, testing, mapping, and collaboration with infrastructure and development teams to ensure reliable EDI exchange and data integration.
- Estimated pay (Adzuna): ~$76,438 per year (estimated)
- Employment type: Full-time (40 hrs/week)
- Work arrangement: Hybrid — must reside and work within the state of Arizona (see Location & Onsite Requirements below)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide production support for EDI and file-based transactions: investigate, triage and resolve incidents; participate in on-call rotation.
- Analyze incoming/outgoing trading partner files; create and maintain data mapping and transformation documents.
- Develop and run SQL queries for production support, testing, and mock data creation.
- Use monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Splunk, Application Insights) to investigate issues and improve observability.
- Build, execute and document test cases; create test files; perform regression testing and defect tracking.
- Use API test tools (SOAP UI, Postman) to validate endpoints and integrations.
- Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications and logic flows.
- Support ETL, SOA and OLAP processes and participate in data integration and reporting efforts.
- Collaborate with IT Infrastructure to implement monitoring, alerting, and dashboards for transaction health and performance.
- Participate in projects of varying scope; estimate effort, create project schedules and deliver stakeholder communications.
- Maintain operational and disaster-recovery procedures; write/update internal runbooks and operational documentation.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ year college-level coursework in system requirements design and/or production system support OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years experience in data analysis, data management, integration and reporting.
- 2+ years EDI experience (understanding of X12 transactions and common EDI processing).
- Intermediate proficiency with SQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with data mapping techniques and data flow documentation.
- Experience using API testing tools (SOAP UI, Postman) and basic scripting/programming (SQL; familiarity with C# or VB.NET is a plus).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and interact with stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Eligible to work in the U.S. (employment verification will be required).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with healthcare EDI transaction sets: 270/271, 834, 835, 837.
- Prior exposure to Edifecs or other EDI processing platforms.
- Experience with BI/reporting, ETL tools, and complex ad-hoc reporting.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare data governance best practices.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Experience building monitoring dashboards and transactional health reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field preferred.
- Prior experience mentoring or providing peer review (for higher-level roles).
Work Location & Onsite Requirements
- This position is hybrid and requires residency and work to be performed within the State of Arizona.
- Typical onsite expectation: at least one day per week; specific onsite frequency may vary by role level and business needs.
- Full-time defined as at least 40 hours per week; position participates in on-call rotation.
