What You’ll Do
- Plan and deliver high-quality, standards-aligned instruction for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) using the site’s dual-immersion model (Spanish-English) to promote language development and academic growth.
- Deliver instruction in both Spanish and English according to the program model and daily schedule.
- Design and implement lesson plans, formative and summative assessments, and differentiated instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Use age-appropriate, play-based and developmentally appropriate practices for TK students.
- Manage classroom routines and behavior using positive behavior supports and classroom management best practices.
- Monitor, document, and communicate student progress with families and colleagues; maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with grade-level teams, bilingual/EL specialists, special education staff, and site administrators to support student success.
- Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and family engagement activities as required by the confidential client.
- Comply with all applicable federal, state and local regulations, confidentiality requirements, and the confidential client’s policies and procedures.
What We’re Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Bilingual Education, or a closely related field.
- Valid state teaching credential appropriate for TK/elementary grades, or eligibility to obtain one. (Candidates must meet state certification requirements for the state where the position is based — e.g., California multiple subject/TK authorization where applicable.)
- Proficient bilingual Spanish-English oral and written communication skills required to deliver instruction and engage families.
- Knowledge of early childhood pedagogy, language acquisition, and developmentally appropriate TK practices.
- Experience with lesson planning, differentiated instruction, formative assessment, and classroom management.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and engage with families from diverse backgrounds.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire.
- Employment is contingent on successful background check and any state-required clearances (e.g., fingerprinting, TB clearance) as required by the confidential client and applicable law.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience teaching in a dual-immersion or bilingual program (TK–K or early elementary).
- Bilingual/bicultural certification or state EL authorization (e.g., CLAD/BCLAD, Bilingual Authorization) where applicable.
- Familiarity with standards-based instruction (Common Core / state standards), TK frameworks, and culturally responsive practices.
- Experience collaborating on IEPs or working with special education staff to support inclusive classrooms.
- Strong parent/family engagement skills and experience communicating progress in both languages.
