What You’ll Do
As a Product Manager (Upstream Product Management) you will lead product strategy and concept development for medical equipment and related industrial products, translating customer and clinical insights into clear product direction, requirements, and business justification.
- Lead upstream product strategy from concept through handoff to development, aligning with portfolio priorities and growth objectives.
- Conduct voice-of-customer activities (interviews, field observations, advisory engagements) to identify unmet clinical and user needs.
- Perform market, customer, and competitive analysis to shape product positioning, differentiation, and roadmap decisions.
- Define user needs, value propositions, and target product profiles to guide design and feasibility.
- Build business cases: market sizing, pricing strategy, revenue forecasts, and investment justification to inform pipeline prioritization.
- Partner cross-functionally with R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, and Operations to ensure concepts are feasible and aligned with global pathways.
- Support clinical strategy by helping define claims, endpoints, and evidence requirements with Clinical Affairs and Regulatory teams.
- Define launch readiness inputs for downstream marketing (segmentation, targeting, positioning, and value messaging).
What You’ll Need (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience, preferably in product management, marketing, or related roles.
- Demonstrated experience collecting and synthesizing customer/clinical insights.
- Strong analytical skills for market assessment and business case development.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree (MBA) preferred.
- 2+ years of upstream product management experience within the medical device or medical equipment industry, or equivalent marketing/product roles supporting new product development.
- Experience working across complex, multi-step business processes and with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience supporting or participating in regulated product development and clinical strategy.
Compensation & Benefits
- United States pay range (national): $102,700 - $171,100 USD annually. Actual pay will be determined by factors including experience, qualifications, and geographic location in accordance with applicable state and local laws.

Work Location & Schedule
- Hybrid role based in Irvine, CA — requires onsite presence at least 4 days per week to support collaboration and team engagement.
