What You’ll Do

You will lead product efforts for Payments at our confidential client, owning strategy and execution for payment-related products and features that serve both customers and internal partners. The role requires partnering closely with Engineering, Data, Finance, Design, Legal, Sales, and Operations to deliver secure, compliant, and scalable payment solutions.

  • Define and drive product strategy and roadmap for Payments, aligned to business goals and KPIs.
  • Lead discovery, requirements gathering, and prioritization for payments features from ideation through launch.
  • Translate customer and stakeholder needs into clear product requirements, acceptance criteria, and success metrics.
  • Collaborate with engineering squads to balance trade-offs and ensure high-quality, timely deliveries.
  • Monitor product performance using data and business insights; iterate rapidly to optimize outcomes.
  • Coordinate Go-to-Market activities and communicate launch plans to stakeholders across the organization.
  • Ensure payment products comply with applicable financial regulations and internal controls; partner with Legal and Compliance on risk mitigation.
  • Mentor and influence cross-functional teams to build trust, alignment, and strong execution discipline.
  • Use AI and data-driven approaches where appropriate to enhance product experiences and operations.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate has payments or fintech product experience, strong technical fluency, and a track record of shipping measurable product outcomes in regulated environments.

  • 4+ years product management experience (payments, fintech, or financial services preferred).
  • Proven experience building payment products or payments integrations (e.g., card processing, ACH, wallets, gateways).
  • Strong analytical skills; experience defining and tracking product metrics and running experiments.
  • Technical aptitude to partner with engineering on architectural decisions and trade-offs.
  • Demonstrated ability to break down ambiguous problems, prioritize effectively, and deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior leadership.
  • Experience with Agile development processes and managing a product backlog.
  • Knowledge of payments compliance and financial services regulations is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Compensation & Employment Details

  • Base salary range: $138,000 - $160,000 per year.
  • This role may be eligible for additional compensation such as a bonus.
  • Employment type: Full-time.
  • Location: San Francisco Bay Area (onsite or hybrid arrangements as determined by the confidential client).
