Important Details

This is a full-time Software Engineer (entry-level) role on a Big Data / Datawarehouse team supporting analytics and reporting. The position is based in Scottsdale, AZ and is a hybrid schedule requiring approximately four days onsite each week at the N. Scottsdale office. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship; candidates must already be authorized to work in the United States.


Your Responsibilities

  • Learn and grow as a software engineer by using existing tools, processes, and best practices for data engineering and ETL.
  • Develop, test, and deliver well-scoped tasks as part of a Scrum team; participate in daily standups, sprint planning, and code reviews.
  • Build and maintain ETL/data pipeline components to ingest internal and external data into the data warehouse and create views/data marts used by analytics, data science, and business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to implement reliable ingestion frameworks, data transformations, and outbound data flows.
  • Follow software development lifecycle practices: design, implementation, testing, release, and operational support.
  • Embrace continuous learning, accept feedback, and adapt to new technologies quickly.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team culture and uphold the client’s core values.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent internship/training experience.
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience or internships working with Python and SQL on data-related projects.
  • Familiarity with Big Data concepts and tools such as Apache Spark and Kafka is strongly preferred.
  • Experience or exposure to AWS services commonly used for data workloads (S3, Lambda, Glue, EC2, Redshift) is highly desirable.
  • Practical knowledge of ETL/data pipeline development, data modeling for analytics, and datawarehouse concepts.
  • Source control experience (Git and/or Subversion) and understanding of build/test pipelines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and software development best practices (coding standards, code reviews, testing).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Desire and ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
