What You’ll Do

Provide engaging, standards-aligned middle school science instruction for grades 6–8 to support strong academic growth, social-emotional development, and a safe classroom environment.

• Design and deliver clear, rigorous lessons in life, physical, and earth sciences aligned to curriculum standards.
• Use formative and summative assessments to inform daily instructional adjustments.
• Manage classroom behavior with consistent routines and positive supports to maximize learning time.
• Differentiate instruction and implement tiered interventions to meet diverse learner needs.
• Collaborate with grade-level teams, support staff, and families to coordinate instruction and student supports.
• Participate in mentor programs and weekly professional development to refine practice.
• Maintain accurate records, communicate student progress, and contribute to a professional, accountable school culture.

This full-time, exempt position is ideal for an entry-level to early-career educator who is student-centered, data-driven, and committed to continuous improvement.

• Estimated pay: $59,022 per year (estimated)
• Location: Hamtramck, MI — on-site

• Minimum Experience: Entry level / early career

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Meet applicable Michigan certification/licensure requirements (including eligible alternative-route certification where applicable).
• Satisfactory criminal background check required.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Demonstrated ability to use data and formative assessment to drive instruction.
• Commitment to student relationships, equity, and high expectations for every learner.

Education & Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Must meet Michigan State Board of Education certification and licensure requirements for teaching in the assigned subject and grade band; alternative-route certification eligibility accepted where applicable.
• Satisfactory criminal background check required.
• Ability to perform physical job demands including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, and standing for extended periods.
