Position Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an IT Engineer I (Real‑Time Systems) to join the Real Time Systems team supporting critical utility operations. This is a full-time, hybrid role (3 days onsite) based in Merrillville, IN or Columbus, OH. You will provide day-to-day production support, help drive vendor performance, assist with system design and upgrades, and maintain stability, security, and compliance for SCADA/PI systems across servers, interfaces, and client tools.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with business teams and IT service providers to resolve system issues and meet Service Level Agreements.
- Provide production support for applications, infrastructure, and end-user tools (examples: Datalink, ProcessBook, PI Vision).
- Install, configure, monitor, and optimize AVEVA PI (and related) servers, interfaces, and client tools.
- Monitor system health and performance; implement tuning and preventive measures to meet availability targets.
- Support system security tasks including patch deployment, backups, restoration, and password management.
- Participate in solution design, upgrades, disaster recovery exercises, and small-to-medium capability projects.
- Perform root-cause analysis and recommend/implement corrective or preventive actions.
- Gather business requirements, write technical specifications, configure systems, and perform testing.
- Maintain and ensure accuracy of system documentation and runbooks.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 1+ years experience with Windows system administration, Active Directory security, and PowerShell scripting.
- 1+ years experience installing, configuring, monitoring, and optimizing AVEVA PI or SCADA system servers, interfaces, and user tools.
- 1+ years experience as an AVEVA PI or SCADA system administrator.
- Technical knowledge of networks, firewalls, and related hardware/software.
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with application hosting, information management, and networking.
- Experience with SCADA, Operational Data Historian, HMIs, RTUs, and PLCs.
- Hands-on experience with PI Data Archive, PI Asset Framework, PI Asset Analytics, PI Event Frames, PI Vision, and PI Notifications.
- Experience with PI Integrator for Business Analytics.
- ITIL certification or relevant technical certifications.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $82,200 — $123,200 per year.
- Annual bonus target: 8%.
- Hybrid work model (3 days onsite) at Merrillville, IN or Columbus, OH.
- Compensation is based on candidate skills, experience, and internal equity.
