What You’ll Do

This is a temporary/contract Software Engineer role supporting time-bound engineering initiatives for a confidential client. You will deliver scoped technical outcomes, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and follow established engineering standards and security practices.

  • Design, build, test, and maintain software components and services to meet defined project requirements and timelines
  • Implement clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews and documentation
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across development, test, and production environments
  • Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and QA teams to clarify requirements and deliver end-to-end solutions
  • Follow security, privacy, and data-handling best practices when developing and supporting software
  • Provide regular status updates on progress, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional software development experience (typical range in the posting: 4–8+ years)
  • Experience developing with one or more general-purpose languages such as Python, Java, C/C++, or Go
  • Familiarity with version control (Git), unit testing, debugging, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience building or operating scalable services and modern application architectures (microservices, REST/HTTP APIs, event-driven systems)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver scoped work on schedule
  • Experience working effectively in distributed teams and remote-friendly environments
  • Strong collaboration skills and willingness to learn new tools and approaches
  • Product-oriented mindset — able to align technical work with product goals and real-world user needs
  • Comfortable using AI-assisted tools as part of the development or hiring process

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with observability, logging, and monitoring tools
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code or automation (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
  • Prior contract or consulting experience supporting time-boxed projects

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Compensation & Pay Transparency

  • Base pay range: $90.00/hr — $95.00/hr
  • This is the typical base pay range for this role across the U.S.; final offers are based on skills, experience, and other lawful factors.
  • Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at 1.5x the base hourly rate for hours worked over 40 in a workweek, or as required by state or local law.
  • This is a temporary/contract opportunity; benefits eligibility and packages (if any) will be discussed by our client and may vary by employment classification and location.

Location & Work Arrangement

  • Primary location: Redmond, WA (local or willing-to-relocate candidates welcome)
  • Remote work options may be available depending on business needs and role requirements
  • Employment type: Contract / Temporary
