What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Tax Staff I to support its Financial Services tax practice. In this hybrid role you will learn tax preparation and support tax planning and provision review for corporate and individual clients.

  • Learn and assist with preparation of federal and state income tax returns
  • Support tax provision completion and review
  • Assist with tax planning research and documentation
  • Prepare workpapers and maintain client files in line with firm standards
  • Support client engagements, including coordination with senior staff and partners
  • Communicate professionally with clients and internal teams to deliver timely results

Qualifications (Basic)

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university
  • 0–2 years of recent public accounting experience (entry-level candidates encouraged)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future
  • Ability to reliably commute to the assigned San Francisco office and client sites as required
  • This position is hybrid and includes in-office requirements

Preferred / Desired Qualifications

  • Pursuing the educational requirements for CPA licensure in the state of assignment (or working toward 150 credits/master’s)
  • Final graduation between Dec 2026 and Sept 2027 preferred
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0 preferred
  • Strong Excel and Word skills
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to collaborate effectively
  • Strong communication, leadership potential, and analytical skills
