What You’ll Do

As a Tax Staff I (2027 intake) you will join the tax team at a Confidential Client in the Accounting & Finance industry to learn and support preparation of federal and state income tax returns and related tax compliance and planning tasks.

  • Learn and assist with preparation of federal and multi-state income tax returns for corporate and individual clients
  • Support tax provision completion and review processes
  • Assist with tax planning research and implementation under supervision
  • Prepare workpapers, reconciliations and supporting schedules using Excel and firm templates
  • Coordinate with engagement teams and client contacts to collect tax data and resolve issues
  • Meet deadlines during busy seasons while maintaining high-quality documentation and review standards
  • Attend in-office days and client sites as required to support engagements

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university
  • 0–2 years of recent public accounting or relevant tax experience (entry-level eligible)
  • This is a hybrid role with in-office requirements; must reliably commute to the assigned Boston office and client locations as needed
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pursuing the education requirements for CPA licensure in the state of assignment (MA) — working toward 150 credits or a Master’s in Accounting preferred
  • Final graduation date between Dec 2026 and Sept 2027 preferred for the 2027 intake
  • Strong academic record (minimum GPA: 3.0 preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; comfortable with spreadsheets and documentation standards
  • Strong time management, organizational, communication, analytical and teamwork skills
  • Self-motivated work ethic with the ability to take direction and work collaboratively

The team emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and professional development—giving staff broad exposure to tax compliance, planning and advisory work across clients of different sizes and industries. Team members are encouraged to propose process improvements that increase efficiency and strengthen client service.


Location & Work Model

  • Preferred location: Boston, MA (hybrid)
  • In-office attendance and client-site travel will be required per engagement needs

Compensation (Estimated)

  • Estimated salary: $79,946 per year (estimate provided by source)
