Role Overview

Confidential Client is hiring early-career Software Engineers (Associate levels) to join their Ground Software Engineering team in Morrisville, NC. You will contribute to software that supports space systems and ground operations, working with modern tooling, collaborating across engineering teams, and following established software engineering practices.

What You’ll Do

• Design, implement, and maintain ground software components for mission systems.
• Write clear, maintainable code and unit tests in Python and/or C/C++.
• Apply Object-Oriented Analysis & Design (OOAD) and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
• Develop and troubleshoot software on Microsoft Windows and Unix/Linux environments.
• Participate in design reviews, sprint planning, and cross-functional team collaboration.
• Document designs, test results, and system behavior to meet engineering and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications (Required)

This requisition may be filled at Level 1 (Associate Software Engineer I) or Level 2 (Associate Software Engineer II). Candidates must meet ALL of the following:

• Completing or recently completed a degree (Bachelor’s for Level 1; Master’s for Level 2) from an accredited institution.
• Major in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math).
• U.S. citizenship is required to be eligible to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.
• Some experience with at least one programming language: Python or C/C++.
• Familiarity with OOAD/OOP concepts and implementation.
• Experience using Microsoft Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher.
• Internship or project experience in embedded systems, ground systems, or aerospace software.
• Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git), CI pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
