What You’ll Do
The Sales & Operations Development Program is a 12-month Accelerated Commercial Experience (ACE) designed for early-career professionals who want hands-on exposure to the electrical distribution business. As an ACE Trainee based in Uptown, IN, you will complete a series of structured rotations that build commercial, operational, and leadership skills through real work, mentorship, and cohort learning.
- Rotational assignments (typical rotations):
- Warehouse & Logistics — order fulfillment, receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping.
- Sales — counter, inside, and outside sales; customer service, product knowledge, and digital tools.
- Operations — safety, facility maintenance, inventory control, working capital, and data-driven decision-making.
- Project Management — coordinate customers, vendors, orders, shipments, and billing; prepare project quotes and bid reviews.
- Elective rotations toward program completion to deepen experience (product specialist areas such as Automation, Lighting, Datacom, etc., or a customized local rotation).
- Participate in cohort activities: program orientation, workshops, product training, and graduation events (some events held at corporate HQ).
- Contribute directly to business priorities, cross-functional projects, and process improvements while building professional relationships across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and support end-to-end supply chain and warehouse workflows.
- Assist sales teams with customer interactions, quoting, and digital sales tools.
- Use operational data to help optimize inventory, safety, and service levels.
- Support project coordination tasks: order placement, shipment tracking, billing follow-up, and communication with stakeholders.
- Complete required training, attend cohort sessions, and participate in mentorship activities.
- Adapt to assigned duties and accept additional responsibilities as the business requires.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Preferred majors: Industrial Distribution, Supply Chain, Business, or related fields.
- External candidates with a Bachelor’s degree should have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- 0–1 years of experience in service-, business-, or sales-oriented roles; relevant internships/co-ops preferred.
- Equivalent military or industry-related experience will be considered.
- Internal candidates: less than 12 months with the confidential client and in good performance standing are eligible.
- Willingness to relocate increases opportunities across the business.

- Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and exposure to varying temperatures and noise.
- Occasional exposure to electrical hazards; follow safety rules and training.
- Travel to offsite locations occasionally.
