Position overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Electrical Engineer (0–2 years) to join a product development team focused on vehicle electrical and electronic systems. This role is based in Augusta, GA and emphasizes hands-on design, validation testing, cross-functional collaboration, and supplier engagement.


Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical systems and controllers (motors, controllers, switches, relays, wire harnesses, displays, lighting).
  • Assist with vehicle electrical architecture design and documentation (service manuals, part books).
  • Review supplier circuit designs for quality, reliability, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Write and review functional specifications and engineering design standards.
  • Perform DFMEA and create test/analysis plans for product validation.
  • Run tolerance studies and produce component and assembly drawings.
  • Lead component and system-level validation testing; generate test and certification reports.
  • Troubleshoot test issues and document corrective actions using PDCA.
  • Participate in cross-functional design reviews and DFA/DFM assessments.
  • Work with external suppliers to develop new technologies and cost reductions.
  • Propose product improvements that enhance customer satisfaction and reduce costs.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 0–2 years of relevant engineering experience (entry-level candidates encouraged).
  • Familiarity with DFMEA, PDCA, tolerance analysis, and validation testing processes.
  • Proficiency with engineering tools and software such as UG/CAD/Teamcenter, MATLAB, XFMEA, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Preferred / differentiators

  • Internship or co-op experience in vehicle electrical systems or a related product development environment.
  • Experience creating service manuals, part books, or technical specifications.
  • Proven ability to work with suppliers on component-level design and cost reduction.
