What You’ll Do
This is a structured, full-time Commercial Credit Analyst development Program for early-career professionals. You will rotate through commercial credit teams, complete a formal training curriculum, and gain hands-on experience in credit underwriting, portfolio monitoring, and deal support. Successful participants are placed into a Commercial Credit Analyst role upon program completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete instructor-led and web-based training, cohort activities, and on-the-job assignments.
- Actively participate in training sessions, coaching, and feedback with senior credit staff.
- Review and analyze financial statements, cash flow, leverage, liquidity, and capital structures.
- Prepare comprehensive credit memoranda for new originations, renewals, amendments, and underwriting events.
- Assess borrower performance, industry trends, macroeconomic risks, collateral, guarantor support, covenant structures, and debt capacity.
- Monitor assigned loan portfolios for credit quality, covenant compliance, and early warning indicators.
- Support portfolio reviews, stress testing, risk rating migrations, and criticized/classified credit identification and action plans.
- Partner with relationship managers and product specialists to support credit structuring and due diligence.
- Gain exposure to syndicated loans, leveraged finance, asset-based lending, commercial real estate, and other corporate credit products.
- Follow applicable compliance and operational risk controls, internal audit points, and regulatory requirements.
- Promote an inclusive work environment and maintain Confidential Client internal control standards.
- Complete additional related duties and rotational assignments as needed.
Who We’re Looking For — Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field with cumulative GPA ≥ 3.0.
- Strong financial statement analysis and accounting fundamentals.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and sound judgment.
- Clear, concise written communication skills suitable for credit documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Professional curiosity and a demonstrated interest in building a career in credit risk.
- Comfortable working in a team-oriented environment and taking individual assignments.
- Willingness to adapt to new technology, change management, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to travel for in-person sessions (approximately one week at a time during the program).
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or advanced coursework in finance/accounting.
- 0–3 years of relevant experience in credit, banking, finance, accounting, audit, or financial analysis.
- Internship or prior exposure to commercial or corporate banking.
Work Model & Location
- Location: Boston, MA (hybrid: 4 days in office, remainder remote).
- Program length: typically ~10 months with rotational assignments.
- Travel: intermittent in-person sessions, approximately one week at a time.
Compensation
- Hourly pay range: $29.57 – $43.99 per hour. The specific pay rate will depend on the candidate’s skills, experience, and final work location within the posted range.

The Commercial Credit function supports the full credit lifecycle for commercial clients — from initial analysis and origination to monitoring and restructurings. The Program is designed to prepare participants for long-term roles in commercial and corporate credit through structured learning, on-the-job underwriting, and cross-functional rotations. Upon successful completion, participants will be placed into a Commercial Credit Analyst role based on business needs.
