Role overview

This entry-level Assurance Staff I role is an audit-focused position supporting financial statement examinations for public and private clients. You will join the assurance team to perform verification procedures, learn audit methodology and systems, and gain hands-on experience working with managers, seniors, and partners. What You’ll Do

  • Support audit and assurance engagements by performing detailed verification and substantive testing of financial statements.
  • Prepare and document audit workpapers, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Test controls, evaluate evidence, and identify issues for escalation to seniors and managers.
  • Assist with audit fieldwork at client sites and with remote testing as directed.
  • Use audit software and Excel to analyze data and summarize findings.
  • Participate in on-the-job training, technical learning sessions, and performance feedback cycles.
  • Communicate professionally with internal teams and client contacts.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university.
  • 0–2 years recent public accounting experience (entry-level candidates encouraged).
  • Ability to reliably commute to the assigned office in New Orleans and to client sites as required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Strong communication skills and professional demeanor.

Preferred / Desired Qualifications

  • Completed or on-track to meet the educational requirements for CPA licensure in the state of assignment.
  • 150 academic credits or a master’s degree in accounting (preferred).
  • Final graduation date between Dec 2026 and Sept 2027 preferred for this intake.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred.
  • Strong Excel and Word skills.
  • Time management, organization, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Demonstrated work ethic, analytical ability, and willingness to learn.
  • Interest in pursuing CPA licensure is a plus.
